Hello, has anyone had any luck getting there hands on the Achemon Sphinx Moths, I have heard they are in my are and apparently pretty thick, but I searched all summer and couldn't get my hands on one for the life of me. Anyone know the best place to look for this species. Here is a picture of the Achemon Sphinx Moth.

I have never caught one. They are apparently very common in Arizona(along with all other cool bugs! lol).
I did catch a close relative once, the Pandorus Sphinx. Haven't got one since. I would suggest using the light to attract them. I think they eat vitis (grape), is there any in your area? Are you interested in raising this species or just to have in your collection?

Both for raising and in my collection actually, I will have to do some more research I guess.

I caught one f those like two-three years ago, but it was real beaten up and had holes and this oily substance on it's wings. It kind of looked like car oil?

I assume it was dead. After insects die, often a oily liquid comes from their abdomen and can make the abdomen and wings look oily. This happens to only males of butterflies and moths. It happens very often to morpho butterflies. That is why the abdomens of morphos are often removed.
